I am pleased to announce that the Six Weeks with Shelby book has been updated to reflect the photos we took over the course of our six week period. There are 634 images directly in the book, and an additional 2000 plus hi-res images shown in the different links for each chapter. A book of travel and experiences detailing the journey between photographer, Jon B Barry and his model, Shelby. The book is journal and outlook of a six-week photographic journey between a 66 year-old photographer and an 18 year-old model as they made their way through Florida, Georgia, South and North Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi, and ending November 25, 2010 in Louisiana.
Learn how both professional photographers as well as hobby shooters find their models; what they shoot; what happens with the photos. In particular, learn about the emotions, trials and joys that took place in the relationship that developed between Jon and Shelby.
What began early October 2010, in Carrabelle, FL, as a paid modeling session for artistic nude work, later turned into a journey of an additional four weeks. The idea of the book began jointly with both parties; however, in mid November, 2010, it became author Jon Barry’s chronicle of their time spent traveling, working, and getting to know each other.
Of the writing process, Jon Barry says, “After one of my many fights with my editor, I finally decided the book had to be honest. The way the book was written was not her fault, it was mine. I had yet to face the fact that what I was trying to do was all wrong, that the book had to tell the story in which I had participated. I had suffered a long time trying to accommodate one person, Shelby, with a version of the book that was just not real.”
Six Weeks with Shelby is a repository for some of the wonderful images they made. There are links which enable viewing high-resolution galleries pertinent to each chapter.
